Does Seborrheic Dermatitis Cause Hair Loss?

Seborrheic dermatitis is commonly known as dandruff. Dandruff is caused due to oily and unclean scalp. Which leads to red patchy skin. This is caused due to stress, dirt, pollution, exposure to sunlight and fungal infection. It is also caused due to nutritional deficiency. When this inflammation is observed on the scalp it damages hair follicles leading to hair loss.

To prevent dandruff it is very important to keep the scalp clean from dirt, oil and pollution. Clean the scalp with a mild anti-dandruff shampoo. Seborrheic dermatitis is not a permanent condition. But if it is not treated on right time can cause severe damage to the scalp and even cause baldness. Patches damage hair follicles and new growth is stopped on the effected area.

  • Diet plays vital role in enhancing the hair quality. Avoid unhealthy food and have a balanced and nutritious diet. Consume green vegetables, fresh fruits, chicken and milk on daily basis.
  • Keep stress away from you. Stress and tension stimulates hair loss.
  • Sleep is also important for body growth. It is also important in healthy hair growth.
  • Get adequate minerals and vitamin from the food you take. If the food is not sufficient you can go for vitamin and mineral supplements.

Home Remedies for Seborrheic Dermatitis Treatment:

  • Garlic is anti-fungal in nature. Garlic can be consumed on regular basis. This reduces infection thus can stop hair loss caused due do seborrheic dermatitis.
  • Apple cider is a good cleansing agent. Use vinegar mixing it with water and rinse your scalp. This is very effective treatment.
  • Tea tree oil is also very useful in treating dandruff. To dilute it you can mix it with coconut oil or olive oil. This mixture can be used every time before you wash your scalp.
  • Yogurt mixed with egg is useful in treating dandruff. Yogurt is anti-fungal and egg conditions your hairs. This will clean your scalp as well as give shine and strength to your hairs.
  • Lemon juice mixed with sugar is also a useful treatment for dandruff.
