Dong Quai and hair loss treatment
Dong Quai is a potent DHT blocker. When testosterone combines with 5-alpha-reductase, it produces DHT or Dihydrotestosterone. It blocks the blood flow and necessary nutrients from reaching the hair follicles. As a result, the follicles become weak and brittle. It is believed that 90% of hair loss is due to DHT. Dong Quai has phytoestrogens that does not allow testosterone to convert into DHT. Therefore, Dong Quai prevents hair fall. It can be effectively used by women too. Since this herb regulates hormones, it can be a good hair loss treatment to cure hair loss caused by hormonal imbalance in women.
