What is curd?
Curd is a dairy product. It is made by fermenting the milk. Milk is curdled by using an acidic substance like vinegar or lemon juice. It might take some time (around 6 hours in summer and 12 hours in winter) for the milk to curdle. Curd is a rich source of calcium and carbohydrates. Curd is used for healthy hair.

Curd is said to be very good for hair. It acts as a conditioner and makes hair soft and lovely to touch. Besides this, it is good for treating dandruff- induced hair loss. It cleans the scalp off the dandruff. It can be taken internally with meals or applied externally to the hair.

  1. For long lustrous hair, mix curd, henna powder, mint juice, coffee, fenugreek seed powder and basil juice. Apply this paste on the hair and leave it on for 3 hours. Wash it off with warm water.
  2. For healthy hair, apply a paste of curd and amla (Indian gooseberry) powder to the hair.
  3. The best home remedy for dandruff is a paste of curd and green gram powder.
  4. To condition your hair, use curd and egg hair-pack on your scalp and hair.
  5. To make your grey hair black without using the harmful chemical dyes, just apply a paste of curd and black pepper powder to your hair.
